A concert at Fana Kulturhus, Bergen, dedicated to the music of Gisle Kverndokk. The evening offers a varied program featuring selected songs based on texts by Nordic poets, solo piano repertoire, and a recently composed main work, “Singing Night.”
Inspired by Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes, Kverndokk continues the vocal quartet tradition with a modern perspective. This work, built on eight love poems by Harald Sverdrup, portrays the many facets of love through singable melodies, masterful handling of the texts, and a unique blending of genres. Singing Night invites us into a musical universe where tradition and modernity meet in beautiful harmony.
